Gold Plated Care

Our gold-plated pieces are coated with a layer of gold bonded to metal for lasting beauty and everyday wear. With proper care, your plated jewelry maintains its radiant finish longer and ages beautifully. Gold-plated pieces last longer with soft wear and can always be re-plated.

What to Expect

Plating naturally softens over time, especially in areas with frequent friction (ring shanks, clasp areas, and bracelet edges). This is normal and part of the lifecycle of plated jewelry.

Daily Care (for longest lifecycle)

✔ Put jewelry on last (after lotion, perfume, oils)
✔ Remove before working out or swimming
✔ Wipe gently after wearing to remove oils

Best Cleaning Method

Do NOT use traditional polishing cloths—they can remove plating.

Instead:
    1.    Use mild soap + warm water
    2.    Gently wipe
    3.    Rinse
    4.    Pat dry

Avoid: abrasive sponges, chemical cleaners, toothpaste and ultrasonic cleaners.

Storage

✔ Always store individually
✔ Keep in a soft pouch or lined box
✔ Avoid tossing into mixed jewelry bowls

Gold plated pieces deserve softness—stored well, they last significantly longer.

Revival Tips

If finish softens over time, consider a re-plating service. Most local jewelers offer this affordably, or please contact us info@shopcocoaari.com

Gold-plated jewelry is meant to wear with your life—soft aging is part of its story.
